Hosted by Outport Reach, a Twillingate-based not-for-profit, the Rockcut Ultra and Half+ Marathon is equally challenging as it is beautiful. Twillingate is one of Newfoundland’s most breathtaking outport communities. This trail running event showcases the rugged north atlantic coastline, scenic historic fishing communities, and immerses runners in the charm and warmth of Twillingate. Located 1.5 hours drive from Gander, Twillingate offers a variety of accommodations to make your stay comfy and fun.
Both events will take place on September 27th, 2025. The Ultra will traverse 50K on Twillingate’s south island, and the Half+ Marathon (Approx. 23 km) will circumnavigate Twillingate’s north island. 2025 is the 5th edition of the Rockcut Ultra.
ROCKCUT 2025 Registration opens at 12 am on January 1st, 2025. There are 100 spots available for the 50K and 175 for the Half+.
Pricing/Refund Policy
Rockcut Ultra 50 – $87+HST
Rockcut Half – $69+HST
If you need to cancel for any reason prior to July 31st, a full refund will be given (less any processing fees).
After July 31, you can transfer your bib to another participant but no refunds will be given. If you can’t make it on race day, you can have a friend pick up your swag bag but we will not ship them to you.

Ultra: 5,328 ft
Rockcut Half+: 2,909 ft
Aid Stations
Rockcut 50 – There will be 7 aid stations along the route which will include water, electrolytes and food.
Rockcut Half+ – There will be 4 aid stations along the route which will include water, electrolytes and food (at station 2)
Finish Line will have food and water.
